The rumored time capsule was found after a second attempt to locate its whereabouts. Volunteers started to clean and remove debris from the top of the capsule and were able to recover the copper box. We are very glad to have the cornerstone safely removed prior to the July demolition of the old elementary building and thrilled to be able to unveil the contents of the time capsule after 77 years at the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Sunday, April 19. The Geological Survey Marker was also unearthed for preservation. Thank you Jeremy Johnson, Head of Maintenance at L.C.U.S.D. #9, and Randy Thole, Co-Owner of C.T.R. Concrete and Builders, Inc. for volunteering your time, tools and talent to remove the 1938 cornerstone and marker from Lebanon Elementary.
